Economic Value of Citizenship for Immigrants in the U.S.

Madeleine Sumption and Sarah Flamm of the Migration Policy Institute wrote a report, Economic Value of Citizenship for Immigrants in the U.S. that analyses the difference in wages between non-citizen immigrants and immigrants who have naturalized. About two-thirds of legal permanent residents who are eligible to naturalize have not done so yet, despite the added benefits of voting, access to public sector jobs, and the ability to petition for family members to come to the U.S. quicker.
